Π1 Classes with Complex Elements
نویسنده
چکیده
An infinite binary sequence is complex if the Kolmogorov complexity of its initial segments is bounded below by a computable function. We prove that a Π01 class P contains a complex element if and only if it contains a wtt-cover for the Cantor set. That is, if and only if for every real Y there is an X in the P such that X >wtt Y . We show that this is also equivalent to the Π01 class’s being large in some sense. We give an example of how this result can be used in the study of scattered linear orders. §

Higgs Bundles and Representation Spaces Associated to Morphisms
Let G be a connected reductive affine algebraic group defined over the complex numbers, and K ⊂ G be a maximal compact subgroup. Let X, Y be irreducible smooth complex projective varieties and f : X → Y an algebraic morphism, such that π1(Y ) is virtually nilpotent and the homomorphism f∗ : π1(X)→ π1(Y ) is surjective. Define R ( π1(X), G ) = {ρ ∈ Hom ( π1(X), G ) | A ◦ ρ factors through f∗} , ...
متن کاملSmall Π 01 Classes . Stephen Binns
The property of smallness for Π1 classes is introduced and is investigated with respect to Medvedev and Muchnik degree. It is shown that the property of containing a small Π1 class depends only on the Muchnik degree of a Π1 class. A comparison is made with the idea of thinness for Π1 classes
متن کاملAutomorphisms of the Lattice of Π1 Classes; Perfect Thin Classes and Anc Degrees
Π1 classes are important to the logical analysis of many parts of mathematics. The Π1 classes form a lattice. As with the lattice of computably enumerable sets, it is natural to explore the relationship between this lattice and the Turing degrees. We focus on an analog of maximality, or more precisely, hyperhypersimplicity, namely the notion of a thin class. We prove a number of results relatin...
متن کاملThe Symplectomorphism Group of a Blow Up
We study the relation between the symplectomorphism group SympM of a closed connected symplectic manifold M and the symplectomorphism and diffeomorphism groups Symp f M and Diff f M of its one point blow up f M . There are three main arguments. The first shows that for any oriented M the natural map from π1(M) to π0(Diff M) is often injective. The second argument applies when M is simply connec...
متن کاملEnumerations of Pi10 Classes: Acceptability and Decidable Classes
A Π1 class is an effectively closed set of reals. One way to view it is as the set of infinite paths through a computable tree. We consider the notion of acceptably equivalent numberings of Π1 classes. We show that a permutation exists between any two acceptably equivalent numberings that preserves the computable content. Furthermore the most commonly used numberings of the Π1 classes are accep...
